There was an upset when higher rankedCartagena (15-17) lost on the road to fifteenth ranked Valladolid (11-21) 86-75 on Saturday. Valladolid had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Eric Demers (185-1997, college: Gordon, agency: Helping Ballers) who scored that evening 28 points and French-American forward Josh Mballa (201-1999, college: Ole Miss) supported him with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Valladolid players scored in double figures. Valladolid's coach Inaki Martin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American-Nigerian forward Stephen Ugochukwu (201-1996, college: McNeese St.) did not help to save the game for Cartagena .
