Very expected game when 15th rankedBasquet Girona (11-21) was defeated at home by third ranked Valencia (23-9) 91-85 on Saturday. Valencia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Senegalese guard Brancou Badio (191-1999) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Dominican guard Jean Montero (188-2003) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The former international swingman Josep Busquets (201-1999) responded with 21 points and Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia maintains third position with 23-9 record having five points less than leader Real Madrid. Loser Basquet Girona dropped to the fourteenth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Bilbao and Lleida.
