Gernika used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Madrid 89-88 on Saturday night. The former international guard Angela Salvadores (178-1997, college: Duke) fired 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Joy Adams (180-1993, college: Iona) chipped in 18 points. American-Nigerian center Nneka Ezeigbo (188-1998, college: RMU) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and German power forward Frieda Buehner (186-2004, college: Florida) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Gernika will meet Araski in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estudiantes will play against Joventut and hope to win that game.
