Regular Season Round 6: Granada - Valencia 85-79

Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Valencia (5-1). They were defeated by eighteenth ranked Coviran Granada (1-5) 85-79 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Valencia. Granada shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Valencia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Croatian Luka Bozic (200-1996) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Finnish Elias Valtonen (200-1999, college: Arizona St., agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Jaime Pradilla (202-2001) with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Dominican point guard Jean Montero (188-2003) scored 13 points. Four Granada and five Valencia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Coviran Granada left bottom position moving up to seventeenth place, which they share with Burgos SP. Valencia at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Tenerife who have the same record. Valencia will play next round against league's leader Tenerife trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Granada will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Girona on the road.
