Very expected game in Malaga where 11th rankedEstepona (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Zaragoza (6-1) 75-70 on Sunday. Zaragoza looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Czech guard Veronika Vorackova (180-1999) fired 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Nadia Fingall (191-1998, college: Stanford) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Zaragoza players scored in double figures. Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Madison Conner (180, college: TCU) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Zaragoza . They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Estepona dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with Cadi La Seu and Leganes. Zaragoza will meet at home Estudiantes (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Estepona will play against the league's leader Valencia and hope to secure a win.
