There was a surprise result when thirteenth rankedBasquet Girona (4-5) smashed at home higher ranked Breogan Lugo (4-5) 103-80 on Saturday. Girona looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian point guard Jose Vildoza (191-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 19 points. The former international swingman Josep Busquets (201-1999) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian Aleksandar Aranitovic (195-1998) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Keandre Cook (194-1997, college: Missouri St.) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Girona and four Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Girona moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Rio Breogan .
