There was no surprise when 14th rankedPeniscola (1-9) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Almassera (5-5) 83-78 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Almassera outrebounded Peniscola 55-38 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ferran Ferrer fired 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Martin Poveda (-2006) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Sergio Vidal (194-1988) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Almassera and five Peniscola players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Almassera moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 19 other teams. Peniscola lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with 7 other teams.
