There was a surprise result in Logrono where fourteenth rankedLBC Cocinas (2-9) defeated second-ranked Ponferrada (8-3) 80-64 on Sunday. LBC Cocinas outrebounded Ponferrada 42-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Borja Arevalo who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Cape Verdean guard Patrick Spencer (186-2002) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five LBC Cocinas players scored in double figures. point guard Ierai Aizpitarte (180-2000) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Dutch guard Jamie Bergens (188-2001, college: Fairfield) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. LBC Cocinas moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Gijon Circulo and Salou. Loser Ponferrada still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Gandia and Castello.
