Everything went according to plan in Madrid where third rankedEstudiantes (10-3) beat 10th ranked Zamora (6-8) 86-77 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Polish-Argentinian Juan Pablo Vaulet (199-1996) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. American-Dominican guard Omar Silverio (190-1998, college: WVU) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Guard Josep Peris (192-2000) produced 19 points and forward Alvaro Martinez (199-2003) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Estudiantes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Coruna, which they share with Alicante. Loser Zamora dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Estudiantes will meet at home Ourense (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Zamora will play against Melilla (#16) and hope to secure a win.
