Everything went according to plan when eleventh rankedOntinet (4-8) outplayed 13th ranked Lucentum (1-11) in Alicante 81-60 on Thursday. Ontinet made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Lucentum only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Lucentum 43-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-1994) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and center David Cabrera (203-2000, agency: BAGENCY CSA) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Ontinet players scored in double figures. Sergio Val Gutierrez (-2005) came up with 11 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Joseph Connelly (191-2006) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lucentum in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ontinet moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Estudiantes and Montemar. Loser Lucentum keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost.
