Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Cortegada (9-4) won against 7th ranked Ointxe! (6-7) in Mondragon 72-64 on Saturday. Cortegada had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cristina Loureiro (183-1994) nailed 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Blanca Manivesa (165-1997) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists. Naroa Garai came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Izar Bedia added 12 points respectively for Ointxe! in the defeat. Ointxe!'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cortegada moved-up to third place, which they share with Leon. Ointxe! at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Plasencia and Barakaldo. Cortegada will meet Leon (#4) on the road in the next round. Ointxe! will play against Lleida and hope to secure a win.
