There was a small surprise when seventh rankedClavijo (8-6) won against 5th ranked Ponferrada (9-5) in Logrono 77-72 on Sunday. Clavijo outrebounded Ponferrada 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Swingman Kevin Torres (-2003) notched 25 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and guard Joseba Querejeta (190-2003) supported him with 17 points. Clavijo's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 13 points and 5 assists by point guard David Orrit (185-2000) did not help to save the game for Ponferrada . American center Riley Hayes (203-1998, college: Catholic) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Clavijo have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with SBA and Toledo. Loser Ponferrada keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Huesca.
