Thirteenth-rankedEstepona (5-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Zaragoza (14-1) on Sunday. Zaragoza managed to secure only three-point victory 62-59 . However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nadia Fingall (191-1998, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and international guard Mariona Ortiz (183-1992) who added 0 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (166-1993) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Mozambican power forward Leia Dongue (185-1991) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zaragoza have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-1 record. Newly promoted Estepona keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Estudiantes and Araski. Zaragoza are looking forward to face Avenida (#5) in Salamanca in the next round. Estepona will play on the road against Leganes (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
