Very expected game when 14th rankedEstepona (5-12) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Leganes (9-8) 71-67 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Leganes made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Mali forward Aminata Sangare (186-2002) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and American forward Maya Dodson (191-1999, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Leganes' coach Javier Fort used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-1996, college: Temple) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Estepona players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Leganes . They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Avenida. Estepona at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Estudiantes and Araski.
