Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-1991, college: Syracuse) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Leticia Romero (173-1995, college: FSU) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. French point guard Lisa Berkani (175-1997) responded with 15 points and German power forward Frieda Buehner (186-2004, college: Florida) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Valencia . Defending champion maintains third place with 13-3 record having just two points less than leader Zaragoza. Estudiantes lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Araski and Estepona. Valencia will meet at home Araski (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Estudiantes will play against Cadi La Seu in Seu D'urgell and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
