No shocking result in a game when tenth rankedBasquet Girona (8-9) beat on the road 13th ranked Zaragoza (6-10) 94-90 on Saturday. Girona looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Mark Hughes (195-1997, college: Wright St.) nailed 24 points for the winning side and Bosnian forward Nikola Maric (207-1998, college: UALR) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Santiago Yusta (200-1997) came up with 27 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Devin Robinson (203-1995, college: Florida) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Zaragoza in the defeat. Four Zaragoza players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Girona maintains tenth place with 8-9 record, which they share with Lleida. Loser Zaragoza dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Gran Canaria. Girona will meet at home Burgos SP (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaragoza will play against the league's leader Real Madrid and will have a slim chance for a victory.
