Regular Season Round 17: Ardoi - Zamora 69-61

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Zamora's (10-7) road loss to fifth ranked Ardoi (12-5) in Zizur Mayor 61-69 on Sunday. Ardoi forced 20 Zamora turnovers. Argentinian center Julieta Mungo (181-1997) nailed 18 points for the winning side and Aixa Wone (189-2000) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. Ardoi's coach Juancho Ferreira used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese forward Fatou Pouye (184-1997, college: Duquesne) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Ana Tainta (173-2000, college: Portland St.) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively for Zamora in the defeat. Ardoi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Melilla. Loser Zamora keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Ardoi will meet Al-Qazeres (#7) in the next round. Zamora will play against the league's second-placed Celta Zorka and hope to secure a win.
