There was no surprise when 7th rankedElche (8-6) was defeated at home by leader Alginet (14-0) 80-70 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Juan Martin who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Miguel Martinez (183-1995) helped adding 9 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Christian Gonzalez (-2002) with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Manuel Varela (182-2001) scored 17 points. Four Elche players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alginet have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-0 record. Loser Elche dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
