The biggest surprise of round 18 in Primera FEB was guestPalencia 's (11-6) easy road victory over one of their biggest challengers Alicante (10-7) 82-63 on Saturday evening. Zunder Palencia outrebounded Alicante 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Latvian point guard Ingus Jakovics (186-1993) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. DR Congolese-Canadian guard Mathieu Kamba (196-1995, college: Cent Arkansas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Unai Mendikote who recorded 15 points and Danish guard Sebastian Aris Ceccardi (189-1995, agency: Helping Ballers) added 13 points respectively. Four Alicante players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Palencia moved-up to fourth place. Alicante lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Gipuzkoa.
