There was a minor upset when 11th rankedGenero (4-11) lost to thirteenth ranked GMASB (3-13) in Granada 70-75 on Saturday. The winners were led by Venezuelan forward Odeth Betancourt (188-2000, college: WKU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds and guard Patricia Benet (175-1988) supported her with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Naroa Zabala (175-2003) did not help to save the game for Genero . Forward Carolina Mateo (185-2000) added 16 points for lost side. Four Genero players scored in double figures. GMASB maintains thirteenth position with 3-13 record. Genero lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 11 games lost.
