There was a minor upset in Madrid where second-bestZentro Basket (12-6) was edged by fifth ranked Real Canoe (11-7) 73-70 on Saturday. Real Canoe forced 19 Zentro Basket turnovers. Strangely Zentro Basket outrebounded Real Canoe 43-31 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Marcos Hermoso (201-1999) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jaime Garcia-larrache chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was DR Congolese forward Gloire Goma (196-2003, college: CSUB) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and Austrian forward Benjamin Schuch (202-2006) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Real Canoe moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Zentro Basket keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Rivas and Gymnastica.
