Regular Season Round 21: Fuenlabrada - Alicante 87-90

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Primera FEB took place in Madrid. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th rankedFuenlabrada (11-8) to eighth ranked Alicante (12-8) 90-87 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Fuenlabrada. Alicante looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Dominican guard Michael Cuevas (188-1994) who scored 18 points. Danish center Kevin Larsen (208-1993, college: GWU) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (204-1995, college: NM State) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and Argentinian-Italian guard Mateo Diaz (186-2002) added 28 points and 7 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alicante moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gipuzkoa. Fuenlabrada at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Menorca.
