Not a big story in a game when 10th rankedLa Leonesa (8-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Ponferrada (13-6) 93-86 on Saturday. It was a great evening for point guard David Orrit (185-2000) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 assists. Dutch guard Jamie Bergens (188-2001, college: Fairfield) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. At the losing side Ivorian forward Aboubacar Traore (196-2001, college: Louisville) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American-Dutch forward Eric Van Der Heijden (206, college: Campbell, agency: Helping Ballers) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Ponferrada and four La Leonesa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ponferrada have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-6 record having just two points less than leader Cordoba CB, which they share with Sant Antoni. Loser La Leonesa dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Azulejos and Sol Girones.
