Regular Season Round 19: Genero - Andratx 70-67

Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Genero (5-13) edged 14th ranked Andratx (1-18) in Las Palmas 70-67 on Saturday. Genero looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Yaiza Garcia (190-1988) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Carolina Mateo (185-2000) accounted for 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Genero players scored in double figures. Guard Pilar Comellas (172-1995) came up with 22 points and forward Brigida Gual (177-1997) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Andratx in the defeat. Genero moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Arxil. Andratx lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Genero will meet higher ranked Plasencia (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Andratx will play against Gran Canaria 2 (#8) and hope to win that game.
