Not a big story in a game when 11th rankedAlmeda (5-14) was outscored by ninth ranked Gran Canaria 2 (9-9) in Las Palmas 94-58 on Saturday. Gran Canaria 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Almeda 's 32. They outrebounded Almeda 53-29 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gran Canaria 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Mali center Lala Toure (186-2008) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Trinity Ezeanatogu (180-2009) accounted for 15 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Five Gran Canaria 2 players scored in double figures. Gran Canaria 2's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Andreea Cojocariu (175-2002, college: NSU) came up with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Mar Coll-Vinent added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Almeda in the defeat. Gran Canaria 2 moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Manresa. Loser Almeda dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Lleida.
