Everything went according to plan when eighth rankedManresa (9-9) defeated 12th ranked Arxil (5-13) in Pontevedra 71-53 on Saturday. Manresa outrebounded Arxil 39-23 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Mariona Teixido (180-1995) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Eva Almasque accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Manresa's coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. French point guard Kelly Chasse (163-2000) came up with 10 points and 4 assists and Lucia Flores added 11 points respectively for Arxil in the defeat. Four Arxil players scored in double figures. Manresa maintains eighth place with 9-9 record, which they share with Gran Canaria 2. Loser Arxil dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Genero.
