The game between closely ranked teams ended with third rankedCasademont 's (16-7) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Gran Canaria (14-7) in Palmas de Gran Canaria 81-68 on Friday. The winners were led by Russian Aleksandr Savkov (197-2005) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 rebounds and Mali center Youssouf Traore (207-2006) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Casademont players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 13 rebounds by Senegalese center Code Mbengue (210-2008) did not help to save the game for G.Canaria U22 . DR Congolese forward Mervedi Miteo (208-2008) added 8 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Casademont have a solid three-game winning streak. Zaragoza U22 maintains third position with 16-7 record having just one point less than leader Girona U22. Loser Gran Canaria keeps the fourth place with seven games lost.
