Everything went according to plan when second rankedAlbacete (16-5) beat on the road 13th ranked Molina (5-16) 78-70 on Saturday. Albacete shot 28 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Molina only scored eight points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Argentinian-Italian guard Silvano Merlo (193-2002) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Victor Aguilar (185-1998) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian-Italian Andres Duval (189-1996) who recorded 21 points and forward Carlos Toledo (198-1994) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Albacete keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Castello. Molina lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Albacete will meet at home Gandia (#4) in the next round. Molina will play against Benicarlo (#11) in Castellon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
