The game had a very big importance for second-rankedAlgeciras as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Algeciras defeated one of their biggest challengers Tijola at home 86-74 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tijola. Algeciras forced 22 Tijola turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Roesley Mendes (206-2002, agency: BAGENCY CSA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. American-Jamaican guard Romar Reid (188-2000, college: St.Michael's) contributed with 20 points for the winners. DR Congolese forward Cedric Belemene (199-1996, college: Tampa, agency: BIG) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian Ciro Zuluaga added 14 points in the effort for Tijola. Four Tijola players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Algeciras (19-2) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Badajoz Vitaly and Jaen FS. Tijola at the other side dropped to the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Jovens and Xiria.
