There was no surprise in Las Palmas where 16th rankedGran Canaria (3-22) was crushed by third ranked Valencia (20-5) 111-66 on Saturday. Valencia outrebounded Gran Canaria 54-29 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Valencia looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gran Canaria 's players. American-Bulgarian center Khaalia Hillsman (196-1996, college: Texas A&M) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Belgian point guard Hind Ben-Abdelkader (172-1995, college: California) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists during the contest. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mali center Lala Toure (186-2008) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and Mali guard Mama Doumbia (175-2007) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Girona. Gran Canaria lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games.
