It ended at the same time the 17-game winning streak of Badajoz Vitaly. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Gymnastica forced 23 Badajoz Vitaly turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Gymnastica players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Cuban guard Raudelis Guerra (191-1993) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Argentinian point guard Franco Ruesga (178-1997) chipped in 15 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four Gymnastica players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Pablo Oses (180-2003) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and Angel Mejia scored 11 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Gymnastica . They maintain second place with 19-6 record having just three points less than leader Mollerussa, which they share with Baskonia B and Oviedo. Badajoz Vitaly at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Puerto Sagunto and Mollerussa.
