There was no surprise when 10th rankedOntinet (8-15) lost to seventh ranked Jorge Juan (13-10) in Novelda 68-78 on Sunday. Jorge Juan forced 22 Ontinet turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Jesus Calero nailed 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Christian Segui (192-2000) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists. Four Jorge Juan players scored in double figures. Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-1994) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and forward Jose Luis Ibanez (198-2000) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Ontinet in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jorge Juan maintains seventh place with 13-10 record. Ontinet lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Jorge Juan will meet higher ranked Elche (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ontinet will play against Lucentum (#13) and hope to secure a win.
