Not a big story in a game in Badalona where 14th ranked Joventut (10-19) was defeated by eighth ranked Estepona (14-15) 74-69 on Sunday. Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2002) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American guard Madison Conner (180, college: TCU) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Laura Howard (178-1995, college: USF) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Laia Lamana (170-2002) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Estepona. Newly promoted Estepona maintains eighth place with 14-15 record. Loser Joventut keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Araski. Estepona will meet at home Araski (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Joventut will play against Gran Canaria in Las Palmas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
