LeaderZaragoza delivered the twenty fifth victory on Thursday night. This time they beat 10th ranked Estudiantes (12-17) 80-72 in Madrid. Zaragoza outrebounded Estudiantes 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. German power forward Frieda Buehner (186-2004, college: Florida) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American-Nigerian center Nneka Ezeigbo (188-1998, college: RMU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zaragoza (25-3) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place. Estudiantes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with IDK Euskotren. Zaragoza will meet at home Cadi La Seu (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Estudiantes will play against Ensino in Lugo and hope to secure a win.
