The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifteenth rankedJoventut 's (11-19) road victory over bottom-ranked Gran Canaria (3-26) in Las Palmas 108-70 on Saturday. Joventut forced 19 Gran Canaria turnovers and outrebounded them 53-31 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Joventut looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Laura Piera (173-2000, college: GCU) notched 25 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the effort and Belgian-DR Congolese forward Bethy Mununga (183-1997, college: S.Florida) supported her with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by Mali guard Mama Doumbia (175-2007) did not help to save the game for Gran Canaria . Mali guard Djeneba N'Diaye (163-1997) added 16 points and 4 steals. Five Joventut and four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Joventut moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Cadi La Seu and Araski. Gran Canaria lost eighteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games.
