We should mention about the upset which took place in Alicante, where higher rankedAlicante (15-16) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Burgos T. (9-22) 92-97 . Burgos T. made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Alicante was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Czech forward Jan Zidek (206-1999, college: Chattanooga) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American point guard Marquis Jackson (183-1994, college: Ohio Christian) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Burgos T. players scored in double figures. Danish center Kevin Larsen (208-1993, college: GWU) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Unai Mendikote added 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Alicante. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Burgos T. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Palma Fibwi. Alicante at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost.
