Rather expected game in Istanbul where 7th ranked Besiktas (11-11) was edged by fifth ranked Galatasaray (13-9) 65-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-64. Galatasaray dominated on the defensive end, holding Besiktas to just 7 points in second quarter. International Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) responded with 12 points and 4 blocks and Bosnian center Kenan Bajramovic (205-81) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Besiktas' coach Henrik Dettmann tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray maintains fifth position with 13-9 record. Besiktas at the other side keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. Galatasaray will face Turk Telekom (#11) in Ankara in the next round where they are favorite.
