We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Balikesir where 16th ranked Adanaspor (4-11) was defeated by seventeenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (4-11) 88-82 on Sunday. Adanaspor was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-15 charge of Bandirma Kir., which allowed them to win the game. Adanaspor was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Phil Greene IV (187-92, college: St.John's) who scored 28 points and 5 assists. Guard Ridvan Oncel (190-97) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Five Bandirma Kir. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) who recorded 27 points and 7 assists and Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Ali Guney BA) added 23 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Adanaspor's coach Timucin Meric let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with defeated Adanaspor. Bandirma Kir. will face higher ranked Denizli (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
