Regular Season Round 15: Galatasaray - Istanbul BSB 90-80

Very predictable result when third ranked Galatasaray (10-5) beat at home bottom-ranked Istanbul BSB (3-12) 90-80 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Istanbul BSB was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) who recorded 17 points and the other American import guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galatasaray maintains third place with 10-5 record behind leader Anadolu Efes. Loser Istanbul BSB dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. Galatasaray will face Trabzonspor (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Istanbul BSB will play against Banvit BK (#4) in Balikesir and hope to win that game.
