There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked Duzce Belediye (2-6) beat at home 14th ranked Pertevniyal (2-6) 80-66 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Pertevniyal 42-29 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Duzce Belediye looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Pertevniyal's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Mehmet Gorkem (-77) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ege Arar (208-96) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and guard Sertay Gursu (194-87) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Pertevniyal's coach Andac Yapicier rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Duzce Belediye moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Pertevniyal. Pertevniyal lost fourth consecutive game. Duzce Belediye will meet higher ranked Bursaspor (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pertevniyal will play against Eskisehir Basket (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
