The most surprising game was the first loss of Banvit (7-1) on the court of eleventh ranked Gaziantep on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Gaziantep 69-60. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Banvit. Gaziantep forced 20 Banvit turnovers. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Lithuanian swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Can Mutaf (190-91) added 14 points in the effort for Banvit. Banvit's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gaziantep have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Banvit at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce. Gaziantep is looking forward to face higher ranked Anadolu Efes (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Banvit will play at home against Trabzonspor and is hoping to win this game.
