Third ranked Fenerbahce blasted bottom-ranked Balikesir (0-8) in Istanbul 91-57. Balikesir is still unable to win any game. Fenerbahce made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Balikesir 32-15 including a 22-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Balikesir was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Ahmet Duverioglu (209-93) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 rebounds and FYR Macedonian-Bulgarian power forward Pero Antic (211-82, agency: BeoBasket) who added 15 points during the contest. Fenerbahce's coach Zeljko Obradovic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) responded with 19 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import Austin Nichols (200-82, college: Humboldt St.) scored 17 points. Fenerbahce (7-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion (7-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Banvit BK. Newly promoted Balikesir still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with TED Kolejliler. Fenerbahce will play against Tofas (#13) in Bursa in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Balikesir will play at home against Besiktas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
