Regular Season Round 2: Istanbulspor - Antalyaspor 77-80

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only three-point home defeat of Istanbulspor (0-2) to Antalyaspor (2-0) 80-77 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Istanbulspor was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 23-12 third quarter run of Antalyaspor. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. American forward CJ Leslie (206-91, college: N.Carolina St.) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Emir Gokalp (185-95) supported him with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Tyler Smith (200-86, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Istanbulspor. Guard Gokhan Aydin (191-95) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Antalyaspor's next round opponent will be Bakirkoy (#12) in Istanbul which should be an easy win for them. Istanbulspor will play at home against Bandirma Kir. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
