Regular Season Round 16: Botas - Adana ASKI 77-57

KBSL top team - Botas (9-7) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Adana ASKI (2-13) 77-57. Botas dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Adana ASKI's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Botas made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Chelsea Gray (180-92, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of her eight free throws) and the other American import center Kiah Stokes (190-93, college: Connecticut) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Nilay Kartaltepe (172-79, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Botas went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Besiktas and Abdullah Gul. Adana ASKI lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with 13 games lost. Botas will face league's leader Cukurova in Mersin in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Adana ASKI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mersin Mersin BSB.
