An interesting game took place in Ankara where higher ranked TED Kolejliler (6-15) was upset on its own court by seventeenth ranked Samsun (5-16) 87-68 on Saturday. Samsun shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. American forward Mikael Hopkins (206-93, college: Georgetown) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and guard Feyzi Celebioglu (192-88) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85, college: S.Carolina) with 21 points and 5 assists and swingman Mert Gizir (193-94) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Samsun moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Ankara DSI and Petkim. TED Kolejliler lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Samsun will face higher ranked Istanbulspor (#13) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
