Regular Season Round 14: Kocaeli - Yalovaspor 73-75

The most exciting game of round 14 in the TBL took place in Izmit. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Kocaeli (6-8) to seventh ranked Yalovaspor (8-6) 75-73 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kocaeli. Naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-1989) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Tunahan Dikmen (203-1994) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Yalovaspor players scored in double figures. American guard Desure Buie (185-1997, college: Hofstra) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Nick Banyard (203-1994, college: UCF) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kocaeli. Kocaeli's coach Ahmet Yolcu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Yalovaspor maintains seventh position with 8-6 record. Kocaeli at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Yalovaspor are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Bornova (#16) in Izmir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kocaeli will play on the road against Haremspor (#12) in Istanbul and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
