Very expected game when 11th ranked BC Odessa (2-7) was defeated at home by second ranked Khimik (7-2) 91-80. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. BC Odessa was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Khimik won last quarter 19-10. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Vernon Goodridge (206-84, college: La Salle) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Goodridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Khimik players scored in double figures. American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and the former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BC Odessa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU. BC Odessa at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
