Regular Season Round 15: Hoverla - Kyiv Basket 95-64

There was no surprise in Ivano-Frankivsk where 5th ranked Kyiv Basket (4-10) was crushed by second ranked Hoverla (12-2) 95-64 on Friday. Hoverla outrebounded Kyiv Basket 43-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists. The best player for the winners was Stanislav Serpilin (193-93) who scored 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Oleksandr Biella (200-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mikita Pitushkin (193-94) who recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Kristian Lugobtsov (197-94) added 14 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hoverla. They used an opportunity after Niko-Basket lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Kyiv Basket lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with ten games lost.
