The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter27-14 . But Zaporizhye won second period 19-14 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Zaporizhye 48-30 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kyiv Basket made 11 blocks. The former international point guard Yehor Sushkin (187-2006) fired 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International guard Mykhailo Bublyk (194-2003, agency: BIG) chipped in 21 points. Kyiv Basket's coach Dmytro Zabirchenko used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Anton Buts (203-1988, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Kalib Mathews (193-2001, college: Queens, NC, agency: BIG) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Zaporizhye players scored in double figures.
