Partizan Igokea defends Adriatic league title !

Partizan Igokea is the new-old champion of Adriatic league. The team from Belgrade beat Hemofarm STADA in Serbian final 69-51 winning the second trophy this season as black-and-white machine already won National Cup Radivoj Korac.

Hemofarm STADA had a bad night and they did not show 50% from the last night against Zadar. On the other side Partizan played good and its players looked very motivated despite champion of Adriatic league does not have any biger benefits yet. But on the other hand Partizan earned 15 points and practially secured a 3-year contract with Euroleague, which suppose to be signed next year. The game is decided in the second quarter which Partizan finished 22-12. Ten minutes later Partizan extended lead to 21 what was a sign for its fans to start celebrating another title.

Euroleague player of the year Nikola Pekovic (210-C-86, agency: Beo Basket) once again led his team to win netting 22 points including 7 rebounds. After many awards this season Pekovic got another one. He is named to be the MVP of the final 4 tournament. Shooting guard / small forward Uros Tripkovic (197-G-86) was behind him with 13 points. Dragicevic

Cook

The top award for 2007-08 season goes to Tadija Dragicevic (205-F-86) of Crvena Zvezda. He was the top scorer and definitely best power forward in the Adriatic League. He was also the main contributor of Crvena, which qualified to ULEB Cup for next season. But he was strongly challenged by Cook, Hukic and Pekovic.
American guard Omar Cook (186-G-82) and Dragicevic created a perfect duo in Crvena and probably top one in the league. Cook was 4th best scorer and best passer in Adriatic League. He was definitely the best point guard over entire season.
Crvena Zvezda was surprisingly upset in the quarterfinals by Union Olimpija. Olimpija's leader Jasmin Hukic (204-G/F-79) gets the award of the best forward. Hukic plays on the position of small forward. Dargicevic (power forward) already got the MVP award, so to balnce the awards more, we decided to give best forward award to Hukic. His team will host this year Final Four.
The best center in the league is definitely Euroleague Player of the Year Nikola Pekovic (210-C-86) of Partizan Igokea. He may end as the most awarded player this year in Europe. He made top awards from Euroleague, now Adriatic League and will for sure make some in domestic Serbian league.
Dusko Vujosevic was the Coach of the Year as he reached an impressive record with his team Partizan Igokea.

Robert Troha (194-G/F-77) knocked down three triples to keep the West rolling but the East team responded with 4 points from Nikola Pekovic and a three-pointer from Milenko Tepic (198-G-87, agency: Beo Basket) to deny the deficit and spurred ahead 47:46. But the West team uttered the final word in the first half as Andrija Stipanovic (207-C-86) made it 59:57 cushion at the interval. Goran Jagodnik fueled a 13:0 rally from the East All-Stars in the third stanza as they accumulated a 72:66 lead. The East team later extended the gap to 94:84 heading into the fourth period. Omar Cook (186-G-82, college: St.John's) opened the final term with a long jumper and the East All-Stars never looked back afterwards.
